Reactive materials for high value-added industrial applications

Since 2014, Olikrom has been designing pigments capable of reacting to temperature, light, pressure or the presence of gases. These smart materials are integrated into paints, inks or plastics developed to order for the aeronautics, healthcare, construction, cosmetics and electronics sectors. The projects, carried out in co-development with manufacturers, are designed to meet specific challenges: anomaly detection, traceability, safety alerts or substitution of regulated components. Each solution is designed for medium-term industrialization and undergoes a lengthy validation process, sometimes spanning several years.

Olikrom’s references include groups such as Airbus, Safran, ArianeGroup and GRTgaz. The company often acts discreetly, delivering specific formulations to its partners without any branding of its own, with the exception of LuminoKrom®.

An industrial model built around agility and intellectual property

With average annual growth of 20%, Olikrom has been able to expand from a laboratory project to a complete industrial structure. The company has its own site in Pessac, which it has expanded to keep pace with its growing number of projects. At the same time, it pursues a rigorous strategy of protecting its know-how, with a portfolio of patents and integrated control of the value chain.

LuminoKrom®, the only technology marketed under the Olikrom brand, is now deployed in over 150 local authorities. This photoluminescent paint, capable of giving off light for over 10 hours without energy, meets the growing needs of local authorities in terms of energy efficiency and safe mobility.

With almost 10 million euros already raised, and a further operation planned to support industrialization and international development, Olikrom confirms its place as one of Europe’s leading innovators in functional materials.
