[L’Usine Nouvelle] VisioKrom®: OliKrom transforms anticorrosion treatment control

An innovative, 100% French solution for safe anti-corrosion treatments

At the Paris Air Show 2025, OliKrom unveiled VisioKrom®, an innovative colored additive that makes previously invisible anticorrosion treatments visible. Developed and produced at the Pessac site, VisioKrom® provides a concrete response to the challenges of safety, traceability and compliance in the aeronautics, rail, automotive and defense sectors.

The additive can be easily integrated into existing treatment baths without altering their anti-corrosion or conductivity properties. It colors the metal interface for immediate, reliable visual quality control. This solution replaces the former hexavalent chromium treatments, now banned, and outperforms trivalent chromium substitutes, which remain colorless.

Patented, industrially validated technology from OliKrom R&D

VisioKrom® is the fruit of five years’ research and strategic partnerships with major manufacturers such as Thales DMS, SECO (Aegis Plating) and L’Électrolyse. It was developed as part of the DANCO program, accredited by Aerospace Valley and supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The solution is now ready for large-scale commercialization, and can be integrated into industrial validation plans.

With this innovation, OliKrom confirms its role as a pioneer in color-change materials. Following on from the success of LuminoKrom® photoluminescent paint, already used internationally to make night-time mobility safer, the Gironde-based company reinforces its position as world leader in intelligent technologies applied to industry.
