A collective project to develop innovative hydrogen tanks for agriculture

Olikrom joins a leading French consortium in the ARHYSTOTE project, led by the AGCO Group from its Beauvais site. The aim of the project is to design intelligent hydrogen fuel tanks for future hydrogen-powered agricultural tractors. Alongside industrial and technological partners such as Cetim, IPC, IFTH and Raigi, Olikrom is contributing its expertise in intelligent materials to this strategic innovation for the agricultural sector.

The consortium has received 4.4 million euros in funding from the French government as part of the France 2030 program, operated by ADEME. This initiative illustrates the company’s commitment to developing sustainable off-road solutions, with zero-emission exhaust technology.

A concrete demonstration of the industrial integration of Olikrom technologies

The project will be carried out in eight stages, including analysis, manufacturing, prototype testing and validation of an industrializable model. The demonstrator will be based on a medium-horsepower Massey Ferguson platform, integrating the new tanks under the cab, while retaining conventional diesel engine components (transmission, cooling, hydraulics). This choice limits development costs while accelerating the adoption of hydrogen technologies.

For Olikrom, this partnership consolidates its position as an industrial player capable of designing high value-added coatings and intelligent materials, serving the energy transition in demanding environments. It also reinforces the company’s industrialization strategy, which aims to turn its intelligent pigments into concrete solutions for the mobility, safety and energy sectors.
